Pitcher Peyton Hardenburger lets the final pitch fly in Wamego’s 4-0 win over Rock Creek in the opening round of the 4A state softball tournament in Salina.

Wamego softball walked away with its second softball state championship on Friday, topping No. 2 seed McPherson 1-0 with two stellar pitching and defensive performances. 

Starting pitcher Peyton Hardenburger threw her second no-hitter of the day, allowing just three walks with 11 strikeouts. In total, Hardenburger threw 29 strikeouts in the final two games of the tournament.Â
