Riley County’s boys golf team defended its state title by winning its second consecutive sand greens state championship. The Falcons won with a score of 349, a hefty 30-stroke cushion from their closest competition, at La Crosse Country Club in La Crosse on Thursday.
Head coach Shari Taylor’s group had several solid individual scores to propel the team to another title.
Caleb Williams finished second, shooting 8-over par, and Ethan Anderes finished third with a score of 12-over par. Dylan Anderson and Parker Day also broke into top 15 spots, giving Riley County a quartet of high placers at the final event of the season.
