Manhattan High’s girls soccer team has two more days to prepare for its state quarterfinal matchup.
MHS, which originally was slated to host Wichita North at 5 p.m. Monday, postponed the game because of severe weather in the Manhattan area. The contest now will take place at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Bishop Stadium.
MHS (13-3-1) clinched a spot in the quarterfinals after topping Derby, 3-2, on penalty kicks Thursday. Wichita North (14-4) advanced with a 2-1 victory over Wichita East.
Wednesday’s winner moves on to the state tournament, facing the winner of the Washburn Rural/Topeka High game.
The state tournament begins Friday at 5 p.m. at Wichita South’s Carpenter Stadium.
