The Manhattan boys soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Monday, falling to Wichita Heights 4-0 in the first round of the Titan Tournament.

The Indians played solid defense in the first half to keep the game scoreless, but the damage was done after the break with a few defensive lapses in the first 15 minutes of the second half.

“It’s early in the year and we will learn from this game against Wichita Heights,” Manhattan head coach Mike Sanchez said.

Manhattan had a chance to take command early in the second half with a penalty kick with 36:40 left in the half, but the Wichita Height goalkeeper made the save. Manhattan gave up its first goal three minutes later. Three more goals given up in the following 13 minutes put the match far out of reach.
