The Kansas State women’s basketball team was picked to finish in a tie for eighth in the Big 12 preseason coaches poll, which was released Thursday.

The Wildcats tied with Texas Tech. The only team behind those two was Kansas, which is predicted to finish last in the 10-team league.

Baylor was picked to win the conference for the 11th time since 2006. The Lady Bears have won or tied for the conference championship 12 times, including the last 11 seasons.

The Bears received seven first place votes, followed by Iowa State (one) and Texas (two). who were voted second and third, respectively. West Virginia is pegged to finish fourth, followed by Oklahoma, TCU and Oklahoma State.

The Wildcats will open their season Oct. 31st with a home exhibition versus Washburn University.
