Manhattan High has an athlete headed to Dallas to represent the nation’s best high school football players.

Indians senior safety and defensive back Nathaniel Hanson announced on social media that he’d be playing in the Blue-Grey All-American Game on Dec. 16 AT&T stadium, where the Dallas Cowboys play.

“After a great combine with (Blue-Grey), I have been selected to represent Manhattan on the west team in the All-American game,” Hanson tweeted.

Hanson participated in the combine at AT&T Stadium on June 30 He ran a 4.55 in the 40-yard dash, eclipsed 9 feet, 10 inches in the broad jump and had a pro-agility score of 4.3, earning him a spot in the All-American game. Hanson was an early selection.

As a junior, Hanson had 48 tackles (15 solo and 33 assisted), 2 interceptions, eight batted balls and a forced fumble in 2018. Hanson earned 2nd team All-Centennial League defensive back honors.

Hanson will play defensive back in the All-American Game.
