The Manhattan High boys and girls cross country teams both took first place at the Bob Schmoekel Cross Country Invitational on Monday. The meet originally was scheduled for Saturday, but was postponed because of inclement weather.

Both MHS teams were dominant. The boys team earned 26 points and junior Daniel Harkin took first overall with a time of 16:46.60 time. Senior Luke Wichmann and sophomore Ben Mosier placed fourth and fifth, respectively. Jackson Tanner was the last Manhattan runner to finish, and still came in 12th.

The Manhattan girls team finished with 25 points in its first-place finish. Sophomore Jenna Keeley, freshman Amelia Knopp and senior Ella Rosenkranz all placed within the top five.
