Damian Ilalio celebrates

Manhattan High defensive lineman Damian Ilalio (45) celebrates the team’s 31-28 win over Junction City on Oct. 11. Ilalio won the Centennial League defensive player of the year award Monday.

The Manhattan High football team stacked the All-Centennial League honors in the 2019 season. Manhattan (9-2) received 18 awards, with 17 players honored, including Damian Ilalio, who was a first-team All-Centennial League selection and also won the defensive player of the year.

The seven players who made the first team were BJ Young (RB), Cade Wilson (OL), Sam Shields (OL), Ilalio (DL), Tyce Hoover (LB), Chandler Marks (LB) and Grant Snowden (K).

The six players who made the second team were Dayne Aschenbrenner (QB), Ben Bolte (OL), Dawson Alesna (OL), Darius O’Connell (DL), Jacob Hirschey (DB) and Nathaniel Hanson (DB).

Honorable mentions were Tyler Higgins (TE), Austin Parker (WR), Jaden Magana (OL), Michael Doiel (DB) and Dayne Aschenbrenner (P).
