Severe weather prevented the Manhattan High boys golf team from completing competition Monday at the Class 6A state tournament in Newton.

Competition originally was scheduled to resume at 10 a.m. Wednesday. But Tuesday morning, KSHSAA announced players wouldn’t return to the course Wednesday. Resumption of play is still to be determined.

In on-course action Monday, senior Cody Begnoche led the way at 4-over par through seven holes. He’s shooting a 32, and he’s in 38th place.

Fellow senior Josh Priddle is 6-over par through six holes. In 62nd place, he’s carding a 30. Juniors Casey Gritton and Mitch Munsen are in 75th and 76th place, respectively. Both are 8-over par through eight holes. Gritton is logging a 40, while Munsen is notching a 39.

Freshman Grant Snowden and junior Collin Devane are filling out the 78th and 79th places, respectively. Snowden is 8-over par through six holes, shooting a 32, while Devane, 9-over par through eight holes, is tallying a 41.

Garden City senior Sion Audrain is leading the tournament at 2-under par through six holes, shooting a 23.
