Four area players rank among the best in the state.
The Kansas Coaches Association named Manhattan High senior Haleigh Harper to the Class 6A first team.
Three Wabaunsee players — senior Alyssa Lohmeyer, junior Autymn Schreiner and freshman Alexis Hafenstein — made first-team all-state in Class 1A/2A.
Harper had a dominant final season for the Indians, batting .660 through 21 games with 41 hits, 26 RBIs and seven home runs. She only struck out five times all season.
Lohmeyer, a catcher, played in 18 games and recorded 32 hits, and 20 RBIs on a .525 average. Hafenstein and Schreiner, both infielders, were successful at the plate, too. Schreiner batted .500 with 32 hits, four home runs and 10 doubles. Hafenstein played 18 games, batting .377 with five home runs, 23 hits and three triples.
