Last week the world celebrated the 200th anniversary of the publication of Mary Shelley’s “Frankenstein” by reading the novel aloud. The only event registered with the international Frankenread organization in Kansas was here in Manhattan.
We would like to thank the following readers who gave their time, who diligently fought their way through 200-year-old English usage, and who discovered that Frankenstein was not the story they expected.
They are: Sally Yahnke, Cindy Schuman, Jeff Zacharakis, Thom Marshall, Averie Thurston, Quinn Hitchings, Bonnie Lynn-Sherow, Sophia Thurston, Rachel Shurtz, Lydia Post, Teagan Hitchings, Kin Ortiz, Jack Thurston, Sue Maes, Emma Thurston, Lexi Smith, Jamyn Lowery, Monte Moser, Megan Moser, Brendan Praeger, Jeff Sackrider, Tara Schneider, Linda Morse, Debby Hiett, Virginia Moxley, Jennifer Edwards, Sydney Carlin and us.
