Ryan Joel Platt passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 4 in Manhattan at the age of 33. Ryan was born on January 10, 1987 in Manhattan, KS, the son of Jesse Platt and Susan Weir. He had a passion for outdoor activities including fishing, camping, and summer family vacations to Telluride, CO. He was an avid KC Royals fan and enjoyed attending baseball games. He loved watching movies and quoting his favorite lines, listening to all types of music, and being with family and friends. Ryan loved to cook and was always good for a new recipe on the grill. If you knew Ryan, you knew his kind and gentle spirit and great love for his family. He worked the last 15 years in construction with his father and brother.

Survivors include his parents, Jesse Platt and Susan Weir of Manhattan, brother Austin Platt and sister Amanda Platt of Manhattan, paternal grandmother Marion Platt, step father Dan Weir, step brother Brian Weir, step sister Amy Weir, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, one niece and four nephews. Ryan is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Jack Platt and maternal grandparents Joel & Shirley McGill.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 9 2020, from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at GameDay Sports Pub in Manhattan.
