Fredrick William Hackerott passed away June 7, 2019, at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. The youngest of four children, he was born in Woodston, KS, December 27, 1936, to Elmer Henry Fredrick and Edith Loraine (Speigel) Hackerott. At the age of 18, he joined the Marine Corps. Returning to Manhattan following discharge in 1958, he met and married the love of his life, Dona-Rose Hewes, who preceded him in death in April 2013. After a career as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Agency, he retired in 1988. Fred is survived by one daughter, Jody Hackerott Gibney (Art) of Sausalito, California, and three step-sons: Gary Grubbs (Linda), Michael Moore (Donna King) of Manhattan, and Lonny Moore (Jean) of Oak Hill, Kansas; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services will be held in the chapel at First Lutheran Church in Manhattan on Saturday, June 29, 2019, beginning at 1pm. Celebration of life gathering to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
