Arthur Leroy Fechner, age 95, died on Sunday August 4, 2019 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House, Manhattan, Kansas.
He was born on November 1, 1923 in Junction City, Kansas the son of Paul Carl and Marrietta (Barnes) Fechner. Leroy graduated from Alta Vista High School and began his lifelong career as a Farmer/Rancher. He loved taking care of the land that has been in the family for over 150 years. He was known as a progressive farmer and enjoyed raising high quality beef cattle there.
Leroy was a past president of the REA (Rural Electrification Administration) which he was a member for many years. He also was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Louise Baker.
Survivors include his brother Karl Fechner and his wife Sally Jean of Palos Verdes Estates, California; many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 21, 2019 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the Welcome Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Harold Wayne Anderson, age 75 of Wichita, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Kansas City, Kansas.
He was born on June 30, 1944 in Lodi, California, the son of Harold Cecil and Dorthy Lee (Moore) Anderson.
On March 8, 1979, he was married to Deborah Kay Kistner. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2019.
Harold served in the U.S. Army for 23 years. Following his military career he worked as an aircraft inspector for Boeing and McDonnell Douglas and was also a FAA mechanic instructor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drafting and drawing and watching the Weather and History channels on television.
He is survived by one son, Christopher Anderson and wife Deandra of Leonardville; two daughters, Tracy Gaudette of Rutland, Vermont and Diana Fackler and husband Dean of York, Pennsylvania; one brother, Jerry Anderson of Sierra Vista, Arizona; six grandchildren, Cassandra Anderson, Dylan Anderson, Alexzandra Anderson, Emily Anderson, Olivia Gaudette and Greg Flacker and two lifelong friends, Terry Petroski of O’Fallon, Missouri and Bob Beard of Derby.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Michael Anderson.
Private family services will take place at a later date. The Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A memorial has been established for the American Legion Post 40. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.

Shirley Ann Rutherford, age 82, of Wamego, died Saturday August 10, 2019 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan.
She was born on May 8, 1937 in Hutchinson, the daughter of Alfred and Helen German.
