RCPD: Anthony Middle School student kicks teacher, throws chair into window Wednesday

Wednesday’s police report on the incident lists two victims, a 33-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman. Wintermote said those were the teachers the student battered.

Wintermote said the student also picked up a metal chair and threw it into a classroom window, breaking the glass. No other students or school staff members were involved in the incident.

Wintermote told The Mercury that the student was released into the custody of a guardian Wednesday. He said the district is not pressing charges.

A “hold” is when the school keeps students in their classes and keeps the hallways clear during an internal situation, pricinpal Vicki Cline said.
