City Park Pool was closed Monday afternoon after a child vomited in the pool in the morning.

“Per our policy, we had to super-chlorinate the pool for 24 hours, and then we had to bring that chlorine level back down, so it’s safe for people to go in the pool,” said Phillip Stanley, recreation coordinator for aquatics.

The Manhattan Parks and Recreation department said the pool’s competition area was not affected, and swimming lessons, a noon hour swim and the junior lifeguard program continued as planned until the entire facility was closed for the day at 1 p.m., the time the pool regularly opens to the general public.

CiCo and Northview pools remained open Monday, and park officials anticipated City Park Pool would open as scheduled Tuesday.
