Soldiers are returning home Friday to Fort Riley.
Soldiers from the headquarters and headquarters company (HHC), 541st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion (CSSB), 1st Sustainment Brigade and 1st Infantry Division completed their nine-month rotation in Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan.
More than 50 headquarters company soldiers departed in December 2020 to complete its combat sustainment mission for the operation inherent resolve combined joint-task force. HHC conducted logistical support to 725 soldiers of the 541st CSSB and thousands of other soldiers in Kuwait, Iraq and Jordan during their deployment.
The battalion provided operational-level sustainment support. It included transportation, equipment and aviation maintenance, vehicle and asset recovery and supplied food and fuel for convoys and aviation units.
