The Manhattan City Commission Tuesday will discuss whether to fund a program for area businesses intended to drive economic development.

The Elevate Fund would loan money to area businesses to help them expand and attract new workers. If the city decides to fund the program, the Elevate Fund would receive $250,000 each year for three years as a grant from the economic development fund. The item is only for discussion at this meeting and the commission will not hold a vote on whether to approve it at this time.
