A Dickinson County woman died after a Tuesday crash on U.S. Highway 77 near Geary State Fishing Lake.

According to a Kansas Highway Patrol report, Savannah Laudemann, 22, of Woodbine was driving east on State Lake Road, about 6 miles south of Junction City, in a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado pickup at 11:40 a.m.

Bryan Lewis, 46, of Crosby was driving south on U.S.-77 in a 2016 Peterbuilt semi tractor. As Laudemann crossed the highway, Lewis’ vehicle struck Laudemann’s on the driver’s side. Her vehicle stopped in the west ditch, and Lewis’ vehicle stopped in the southbound lane and shoulder of U.S.-77.

Emergency responders took Laudemann to Geary Community Hospital, where she later died.

They also took her passenger and mother, Dawnette Laudemann, 44, of Woodbine, to the hospital for treatment of suspected serious injuries.

The report said Lewis was wearing a seatbelt and did not suffer from any apparent injuries, and the Laudemanns were not wearing them.
