Manhattan High football could have another player wearing the purple and white for Kansas State. Indians junior defensive lineman Damian Ilalio posted a few pictures from his unofficial visit with the Wildcats last weekend on Twitter Sunday evening.
Ilalio’s defensive coach at Manhattan, Adam O’Neill, said Ilalio spoke with Wildcat head coach Chris Klieman as well as the team’s defensive coaches before Saturday’s game against West Virginia. O’Neill praised Ilalio’s hands, strength and speed at the line, saying he’s “as competitive a player” he has coached.
Ilalio had a monster year for Manhattan (9-2), posting 44.5 tackles, 21 of which were solo, with 47 assists. He was a menace for opposing quarterbacks, registering six sacks and 13.5 tackles-for-loss in 2019.
