Dave Wagner, a longtime supporter of Kansas State University and K-State Athletics, passed away on June 14 at the age of 77.

In 1991 Wagner and his late wife, Carol, gifted $796,000 to have the turf field at Bill Snyder Family Stadium replaced. Prior to the 1991 season, the field was renamed Wagner Field to honor their contributions. The family continued to support of the university and athletics program since.

“Dave will be truly missed by the K-State family,” Athletics Director Gene Taylor said in a release. “He and his wife, Lynn have regularly attended the K-State football and basketball games, and we all sincerely appreciated their commitment and support of our programs. The Wagner family will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.”

Wagner graduated from Kansas State University in 1969 with a degree in political science.
