Kansas State freshman linebacker DaVonte Pritchard entered the transfer portal, a team spokesman confirmed to The Mercury Wednesday afternoon. News of Pritchard’s transfer first was reported by Rivals.com.
Pritchard, who entered just hours after K-State won the Texas Bowl Tuesday evening, came to the Wildcats as the second-best prospect in Kansas, according to the 247Sports Composite. The 5-foot-10 freshman prepped at Gardner-Edgerton and was a first-team all-state honoree in 2020 by the Kansas Football Coaches Association and Sports in Kansas.
He did not see the field during his true freshman season and will have four seasons left to play where ever he lands.
Pritchard becomes the seventh Wildcat to leave the team since the start of the 2021 season.
