Sunflower Showdown: Kansas State vs Kansas, Dalton Schoen 2019

Kansas State junior wide receiver Dalton Schoen (83) catches a pass against Kansas junior cornerback Hasan Defense (13) during last year’s Sunflower Showdown at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Kansas State and Kansas will tee it up in the afternoon in this year’s edition of the Sunflower Showdown.

In a joint announcement from the Big 12 and Fox Sports Monday, officials revealed that the game between the Wildcat and Jayhawks will begin at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at Memorial Stadium in Lawrence. The contest will be televised nationally on FS1.

The Sunflower Showdown is the fourth-longest uninterrupted series in FBS history. This season marks the 109th consecutive year the Wildcats and Jayhawks will meet on the gridiron. Kansas holds a 64-47-5 all-time series lead, but the Wildcats have won each of the last 10 meetings and 23 of the last 28 matchups.

But before Nov. 2 arrives, both teams have homecoming games this weekend.

KU hosts Texas Tech at 6 p.m. Saturday. Earlier in the day, K-State welcomes No. 5 Oklahoma to town for an 11 a.m. kickoff.

The contest between the Wildcats and undefeated Sooners will air on ABC.
