Kansas State vs Texas Tech, Skylar Thompson carry

Kansas State quarterback Skylar Thompson (10) runs the ball against Texas Tech defensive back Jah’Shawn Johnson (7) during last season’s game at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The two teams face off in Lubbock, Texas, at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Kansas State’s final road game of the season will take place under the lights.

A joint release from the Big 12 Conference and FOX Sports Sunday announced that K-State’s game at Texas Tech will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday. It will air nationally on FS1. It marks the first time the Wildcats have played at night in Lubbock, Texas, since 2011, when they won 41-34.

A victory Saturday would be K-State’s fourth consecutive over Texas Tech, which would tie the Wildcats’ longest win streak in the series. The recent run of success has helped K-State draw within one in the all-time series, which the Red Raiders lead 10-9. Texas Tech is 7-4 against K-State at home.

After dropping back-to-back games, K-State enters Saturday at 6-4 overall and 3-4 in Big 12 play. Texas Tech is 4-6 and 2-5, respectively.
