Kansas State football recruiting isn’t letting up. The Wildcats landed another 2020 commitment Saturday, with Texas defensive back Malachi Mitchell giving his pledge in a message posted on his personal Twitter account.
After thanking God, his mother and other family members as well as his coaches, Mitchell announced his commitment.
“I thank every coach and their respective universities for recruiting and believing in me ... with all that being said, I’m committed to Kansas State University,” Mitchell wrote.
Mitchell announced his decision during an unofficial visit to Manhattan this weekend.
A 6-foot, 185-pound safety, Mitchell plays for Legacy High School in Mansfield, Texas. Mitchell also held an offer from K-State’s in-state rival, Kansas, as well as Air Force, Army, Navy, Arkansas State, Colorado State and Louisiana-Monroe. He also had begun drawing interest from Baylor and Texas Tech.
He does not yet hold a rating from Rivals or 247Sports.
Mitchell is the 15th commitment for the Wildcats in the 2020 cycle.
