Country Stampede brought tens of thousands of music fans to Manhattan every summer for 23 years.

With the announcement Thursday that the music festival is moving to Topeka, The Mercury is looking back at the growth of the festival and some of the biggest acts that visited the Little Apple.

Legends like Reba McEntire, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson and Brooks & Dunn performed there, and so did some of today’s biggest acts like Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert and Taylor Swift before she hit it big.
