The Riley County Historical Society quarterly dinner/program meeting will be Monday July 15 at Meadowlark Hills Community Room, 2121 Meadowlark Road.  Reservations for dinner are required by Wednesday July 10 by calling 785-565-6490.  The cost is $13.00 and dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m.  The speaker will be Tom Parrish, on “Cellars and Caves of the Flint Hills.”  No reservations are required for the program which will begin around 7:15 p.m.  The program is free and everyone is welcome.

Tom Parrish is an artist, photographer, public historian, archivist and educator.  He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Fine Arts from Kansas State and teaches graphic design in Emporia, Kansas.   His web site is:  He has extensively researched and photographed Flint Hills native stone subterranean shelters.
