    Manhattan Optimist Rebels win Topeka tournament

    The Manhattan Optimist Rebels 14-and-under softball team competed in the USSSA Lake Shawnee Mother’s Day tournament last Saturday.  The Rebels’ pitching dominated the tournament, allowing only two hits in three shutout games. The Rebels won Game 1 13-0 against the Ninja Warriors from Topeka.

    The Flint Hills Soccer Club Earthquakes won the 14-and-under division at the Governor’s Cup tournament last weekend in Topeka. The Earthquakes went undefeated in pool play before advancing to the championship. They won their first game 2-0 against the KC Futura Futbol Club Revolution.
