    K-State almost had its first shutout since beating Kent State 37-0 during the 2011 season. A late Iowa State touchdown with only just 3:24 remaining Saturday spoiled a feat that hasn’t been accomplished in Manhattan against a Big 12 opponent since the Wildcats trounced Missouri in 1999.

    Riley County’s Braden Cook picked off Rock Creek quarterback Brett Hammett in the end zone late in the third quarter and returned it 100 yards for a touchdown that not only gave the Falcons the lead, but put Riley County in the driver’s seat the rest of the way — winning 35-21.

    Still photos show Willie the Wildcat running toward a man dressed as West Virginia’s mascot before Saturday’s football game, tackling him, then standing up to do a cheer. When medical officials realized he was having an apparent seizure, they rushed out to help him.
