Rock Creek High School hosted Riley County Friday, October 3, 2014. After a slow start from both teams the score at half time was 14-7 in favor of Riley County. Riley County bounced back and launched several offensive drives resulting in touchdowns. Rock Creek never recovered. Riley County won 34-13. They are now 2-3 for the season. Rock Creek is now 1-4 for the season.
K-State traveled to Lawrence, KS for to face off against in-state rival KU. Both teams lost their opening conference games after starting off hot in non-conference play. K-State would prove victorious in 5 sets winning 25-19, 23-25, 14-25, 25-22, and 15-8. K-State improved to 14-2 for the season.
In the show, the Jellicles, a tribe of cats, are coming together to make the “Jellicle choice.” The cat selected will start a new life and ascend to the “Heaviside Layer.”
No. 25 Kansas State hosted UTEP Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. The defense was ruthless and the Wildcats easily won 58-28 improving to 3-1 for the season. K-State will face Texas Tech next week.
Manhattan High School hosted Highland Park at Cico Park Friday. Manhattan won impressively 54-0 to remain undefeated for the season.
Manhattan High School hosted Seaman High School for men’s varsity soccer Tuesday night. After early goals from each team, the game was decided in the final minutes with a winning goal by Manhattan, who went on to win 2-1.
On Sept. 20, 2014, Paxico held it’s 11th Annual Blues Festival in downtown Paxico. It featured five bands with 90 minute sets each to provide great music, along with a food court, and several antique shops to fulfill any antique shopper’s dream.
Festivities featured entertainment, magicians, beer, a bouncy house, a car show, a street dance and a mini “Maker Faire.”
