Local woman dies at 105

A Manhattan woman who had been a resident of the area for more than a century died Saturday at the age of 105.
Genevieve Martha Ekart of Manhattan died Saturday at the Stoneybrook Retirement Community.
The family provided some of the following information. She was born May 30, 1907, on Lost Creek north of Belvue in Pottawatomie County. She was the fourth of five children born to Constantine Joseph and Katherine Elizabeth Riat Umscheid. She moved in 1910 with her family to a farm south of Flush.
