Dick Stone, a member of three Kansas State University basketball teams in the mid 1950s, died earlier this week as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Florida.

Individuals familiar with the circumstances said Stone was a passenger in a car that was stopped when it was struck from behind by another vehicle in Destin, Fla.

He was on vacation at the time.

Stone was a 6-3 forward who was captain of the 1955-56 team that finished 17-8 overall, won the Big Seven championship and played in the NCAA regional. He also played on the 1953-54 and 1954-55 teams.
