Why do you charge people to run their letters to the editor that endorse political candidates or bal


Because we believe that those letters had turned into essentially free advertising, and we decided to charge for them. Letters to the editor, in general, are free. The charges apply only to letters submitted during election season that specifically advocate (or oppose) a particular candidate or a particular proposal on the ballot.
