Who writes the stories in the paper that don't have bylines


Depends. Sometimes those are written by Mercury staffers but the stories are short enough that we elect not to use a byline, or to use one that just says “staff reports.” Other times they might be lightly-edited versions of stories published by other entities, such as the KSU news office or the Fort Riley public affairs office.
