According to the Constitution, Congress has the authority to move/change/postpone the November election. With the recent disaster on the East Coast, hundreds of thousands will still be without power on Tuesday. Many have lost every material thing they possess and voting is the last thing they are thinking about. Public transportation required for many to travel to their polling place may not be back in service. Many polling places… aren’t… demolished by Mother Nature.
Do you think Congress will postpone the voting date for some of the Eastern states?
If the voting is not postponed, will the election be considered “fair” and representative of the electorate?
With the partisan division in Congress, could we see the House refuse to address the issue while the Senate votes to move the date?
We may be blessed by an excellent civics lesson, while escalating the discord of partisan politics.
