Don’t forget Romney/Ryan want to eliminate taxes on interest income and drastically reduce it on capital gains.  That has almost no impact on those of us earning almost nothing on our tiny savings accounts with their miniscule interest income and little or no capital gains income.  But it greatly benefits those earning most of their income through those sources (like Mr. Romney).

we can get in the weeds here and discuss specifics ad nauseum.  but it’s a worthless effort because congress has to make or at least agree to these changes.  the point is that romney has presented a plan to deal with the deficit that would cut both rates and deductions.  the details have to be worked with congress, we all know that. but the fact he actually has a plan is what’s appealing to independents who, evidently, control the election and seem to be moving his direction lately.

He has a plan to work with Congress.  We all know how well that goes.  You’ve got a bunch of people in the House who don’t want to do anything except destroy any semblance of government so their crony sponsors can implement a Randian utopia.  Anything Romney and Congress come up with together will give the country to the Kochs and their ilk.  I would hate to see that happen.
