My father was a brilliant doctor

I was thinking about him this morning.  I felt sort of poorly and didn’t want to get out of bed.
Now, my father was not a licensed doctor, but he knew how to make people well. I remember several occasions when I felt like skipping school, so I would put on this pitiful looking face and moan and groan.  My mother would always fall for it.  My dad was a different story.  He would walk in and I would say “I think I need an aspirin”.  He would respond by saying “I’ll give you an ass burn if you are not out of that bed by the time I count to five.”  I made marvelous recoveries. You see, anyone can be a doctor.
