16% increase in number of citations written…  Battery of law enforcement officers…  Over-taxed emergency services….  Yep!  Wynn and all who so valiantly root for Faux Patty’s Day can be proud.  It rained all day.  The weather was terrible.  Wonder how much worse the melee would have been if we had good weather….

Just to be clear…

If I understood correctly one of the earlier posters mentioned RCPD making money on the event - presumably from fines.  Here’s the part to be clear about - RCPD makes no money from fines.  All fine money goes to Municipal or District court.  The City provides 80% of the Department’s budget and the County 20%; if one doesn’t include facilities and inmate medical which are provided 100% by the County.  None of the PD budget comes from fines.  BTW - I’m guessing the event will cost just RCPD in excess of 25k for overtime this year.  Won’t have the numbers for a while - but call that an educated guess.  Just want to avoid the impression that the more citations RCPD writes, the more money it has.  Not the case.

BTW II - preliminary numbers (translate preliminary as “very rough”) from the PD and EMS have the event being markedly similar to last year.  Haven’t heart how MFD did yet.

I prefer to get my news from them. Its free and more accurate. Maybe they can get a forum on their website—- Loved the Comparatively ILLEGAL headline

32% decline on reports filed. 152 vs 103 for this year. (this number can be misleading)

Schoen said 31 calls were reported during last year’s event, and this year, the department only received 13.—-Disorderly Conduct calls
Does that mean more older folks were partaking?  Hence the 51 year old biter?

A total of 48 calls were reported last year during Fake Patty’s Day, this year there was 46.

I do not condone abuse on police officers—However form what I read the battery includes—-
1. Almost getting bitten?
2. Being pushed so a kid could flee (for good reason, for him)
3. Officer hit by a green hat
4. dunno

Overall I hope everyone was safe. There was no major incidents which is always good. I prefer just to avoid the madness now-a-days. I did however drive the Trolley for a 4 year olds birthday!! Then I went home and drank some 8 bit in purple.

——-EDIT——-
MORE ACCURATE as in less bias—- They do not need a headline to sell a paper

The commentary linked to above and written by “Mr. Kaw” was written by “Wynn,” which I infer means it was written by Wynn Butler, so if one would like to know Mr. Butler’s thoughts on Fake Patty’s Day, there they are.  All of the “Mr. Kaw” postings currently available on Our Manhattan’s web site show “Wynn” as the author of the commentary.

Interesting.  Delete the posts and re-upload them all you want, but I saved them.  Why not just own it?
