    INVITATION TO BID First published in The Manhattan Mercury on Sunday, October 23, 2016; subsequently published on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, Friday, October 28, 2016, Sunday, October 30, 2016; Wednesday, November 2, 2016, Friday, November 4, 2016. 1.1 PROJECT SCOPE: A. To modify the welding shop HVAC systems as described in the project manual, drawings and addenda thereto. The project includes associated electrical and general construction work. 1.2 BID RECEIVING: A. Bids will be received in accordance with the "Instructions to Bidders and General Requirements" included in the Project Manual until 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 09, 2016 at the U.S.D. 383 District Office, 2031 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502. 1.3 BID DOCUMENTS A. Drawings and Specifications are available electronically, free of charge, from Orazem & Scalora Engineering, P.A., 2312 Anderson Ave., Manhattan, Kansas 66502, (785) 537-2553. 1.4 BID SECURITY AND BONDS: A. Bid Security and Bonds will be required in accordance with the "Instructions to Bidders and General Requirements". 1.5 PRE-BID SITE VISIT: A. Each bidder shall visit the site, verify existing items shown on plans or specified, and familiarize himself with the working conditions, hazards, and local requirements involved, and submission of bids shall be deemed evidence of such visit. Proposals shall take these existing conditions into consideration and the lack of specific information on the drawings shall not relieve the Contractor of any responsibility. Site visits may be arranged by contacting Mr. Matt Davis, at (785) 587-2180. 1.6 PRE-BID CONFERENCE: A. A pre-bid conference will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, October 27, 2016, in the welding shop located in F-Hall of the High School, 2100 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, KS 66502.
