Riley County Seniors’ Center


  • September 10 1:00 pm Planning smart transitions

    The series is bringing together 29 local and regional speakers to discuss topics including sorting, appraising and donating your stuff; selling personal property; home care options and paying for long-term care.

    The series will also preview a Retirement Living Fair and tours in October.

    The series is free and open to the public. Please call the center for the series schedule and to register at 537-4040.

  • October 15 10:00 am RETIREMENT LIVING FAIR

    The Seniors’ Center in Manhattan is hosting a retirement living fair. The following retirement communities or apartment homes will be available to answer your questions about their organizations and retirement living:  Aldersgate Village-Topeka; Autumn Hills-Riley; Clay Center Presbyterian Manor; Leonardville Nursing Home; Sterling House-Junction City; Georgetown Apartment Homes,  Homestead Assisted Living, Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community, Stoneybrook Retirement Community and Via Christi Village, all of Manhattan. The event is free and open to the public.  Refreshments and door prizes will be available. For more information about the fair, contact Susan Peterson at 785-537-4040.

  • March 17 1:00 pm Manhattan book discussion group

    The title of this month’s book is “The Light Between Oceans” by M.L. Stedman.

  • March 17 2:00 pm Visually Impaired Persons support group

    This month will be a share meeting. Join the group in this informal discussion of topics of interest to members. For more information, call Kathy at 785-539-1973.

  • March 19 9:00 am Bird watching talk

    Chuck Otte will speak on “Bird Watching in Kansas” with AARP Local Chapter 329. The event is free and open to the public.
