  • May 4 4:00 pm Organ recital

    The Music Guild of the First Presbyterian Church at 8th and Leavenworth will sponsor an organ recital Sunday at 4 p.m.  David Pickering, an associate professor of music at Kansas State University, will present the recital on the church’s Lynn Dobson pipe organ. This is the 30th anniversary of the pipe organ’s installation, and Pickering will play music by Bach, Franck, Walcha, and Gawthrop.  Those with questions may call Billie Woodward at 539-2960.

    Kaw Valley Rodeo Association and Cox Bros. BBQ present the Tough Enough to Wear Pink Spaghetti Dinner. A benefit event for K-State’s Johnson Cancer Research Center. Tickets: $10 adults, $5 children ages 5-12, free for children 4 and younger. Get tickets in advance by calling 785-532-6705.
