Women should stand up against rapes in colleges

By Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

I have been watching and reading about sexual assaults in the military, in high schools and in so many colleges.

They’re happening in Harvard, at K-State and all over our country. I was watching television and a woman was saying, “We are talking about it…”

But why are they just talking? Rape is an assault against women. It should never be negotiated! It should be prosecuted.

Men who assault women commit a crime. If there is evidence to prove guilt, they should go to prison.

You women have fought for equality in the workplace. Why aren’t you bonding together on these sexual assaults? Why aren’t graduates picketing colleges, talking to the media and calling your congresspersons demanding justice?

If you have been raped, do not be ashamed. Fight back. Women of the USA, demand respect. You are worthy of it.
