A Manhattan woman died Saturday night as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident that afternoon.
Betty Clark, 88, was airlifted to Stormont-Vail Hospital following initial treatment, according to a report filed by the Kansas Highway Patrol. Clark died at the hospital.
She was driving a 1996 Dodge Grand Caravan on a street known as South Dam Road and apparently attempting to cross Tuttle Creek Boulevard when her car was struck on the right side by a vehicle driven by Bryan Emmanuel Tejada, 19, of Fort Collins, Colo. Tejada’s 1993 Toyota GT Coup caught fire and was completely burned, but he suffered no reported injuries in the accident. The accident scene is at the intersection of TCB and K-13 near where the latter road crosses the dam.
