Woman dies Friday in K-177 wreck

A Manhattan resident died at the scene of an accident on Tuttle Creek Boulevard on Friday.

Riley County police determined that Carol Douglas allowed her vehicle to drift over the center line in the 600 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard, where it collided with a vehicle driven by Jason Ellis, 37, of Manhattan, according to RCPD Lt. Tim Schuck.

Douglas was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been notified. Ellis was transported to Mercy Hospitaland a passenger in Douglas’ vehicle, Richard Rowe of Maryland, was air lifted to the KU Medical Center both with non-life threatening injuries. Schuck said an investigation into the accident continues.
