Woman bites police officer

By The Mercury

Riley County police arrested a Clifton woman Saturday evening for a slew of offenses connected to a domestic battery report and for attempting to bite a law enforcement officer.

Desiree Kane, 31, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. after police performed a traffic stop in the 500 block of Tuttle Creek Boulevard.

Officers discovered Kane was intoxicated when they stopped the vehicle, according to a report.

Kane resisted and attempted to bite one of the officers while she was being arrested.

Police reported Kane had struck a 41-year-old male, whom she knows, in an earlier domestic incident. No further information regarding that incident has been released due to its domestic nature.

Kane was arrested for domestic battery, battery of a law enforcement officer, assault of a law enforcement officer and interference with law enforcement.

After being held on no bond in Riley County, Kane was transported to the Pottawatomie County Jail.
