Woman arrested for arson

Riley County officers arrested an 18-year-old woman Monday for allegedly lighting her sister’s clothes on fire following a dispute at their residence.

Brandi Banks, 1500 Oxford Place, was arrested for aggravated arson and criminal damage to property after allegedly lighting personal items, mostly clothing, of her sister’s on fire.

Lt. Josh Kyle said the apartment was occupied during the reported arson, resulting in the aggravated charge. The incident occurred between noon and approximately 1:40 p.m.

Kyle said $368 worth of items was damaged.

Banks was released from the Riley County Jail on $5,000 bond.
