Woman arrested for aggravated battery

Riley County officers arrested a Manhattan woman for domestic aggravated battery and various other charges following allegations from her boyfriend that she threatened him with a cutting instrument, resulting in a minor wound to his hand.

Officers arrested Deanna Rai Johnson, 23, 717 Kearney St., Tuesday for domestic aggravated battery, battery, criminal damage to property, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of hallucinogen.

Lt. Josh Kyle said that officers arrested Johnson at Wal-Mart, 101 E. Bluemont St., but did not specify where the alleged altercation between Johnson and her boyfriend took place.

Kyle said the incident occurred between 7:15 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Johnson is confined on $3,500 bond.
