Riley County attorney Barry Wilkerson was elected president of the Kansas County and District Attorney’s Association Monday.
The KCDAA is an organization for prosecutors in the state. One of its functions is to work with the Kansas Legislature regarding prosecution and litigation issues. Wilkerson said the organization helped with the “Hard 50” criminal sentencing law last year.
Wilkerson has been on the group’s board for six years. Most recently, he was vice president.
