When are the streets swept?

By Ned Seaton

Q: I see the city street sweepers out at varying times and wonder whether there is a posted schedule that the public can view so we know when they will be in front of our house. The reason is that I would love to know when they are coming to ensure any vehicles that I have parked on the street will be moved out of their way so they have a clear path on the curb in front of my house. As it is, they show up without notice and have to go around a vehicle, thus not sweeping a portion of the road that needs cleaning. When I do see them by chance, I go out and move any cars, and we both benefit from a clean sweep. It sure would help both the city and the residents if we knew when they were coming and could be ready to clear their pathway!
