What if U.S. dropped food and toys instead of bombs?

To the Editor:
It is now almost 2:30 am; I have been thinking for the past hour about Syria and our US reaction to it. Yesterday, our Bible study group put aside our Bibles to discuss what positive things we as individuals could do to counter the hatred, the fighting and the destruction that is occurring now in the Middle East. We came up with the usual responses that we give when seeing such horror in the world — prayer, monetary contri-butions to support refugees, personal efforts to understand, writing to our national leaders. I took such a challenge to bed with me, thus this letter.
